| Poem (Original) Sometimes I wonder why my neck is dark Sometimes I wonder why I am getting fat My doctor told me that I am eating too much junk!! My excuses are always: I cannot stop Look up your family tree Who is unable to see? How sad it is not having both feet! Because you are eating too many sweets How frustrating it is not being able to conceive I know… it takes time to believe That you have the power and the tools To start eating healthy and stop being a fool. by Liliana Prakasam. |
This is a new version of my poem kindly done by one of our
patients.
Do you wonder why your neck is dark?
Do you wonder why you're getting fat?
You're probably eating too much junk.
Please stop and think a while on that.
Investigate your family tree.
Look carefully at what you find--
The relatives who could not see,
Who ended up completely blind.
Or ones with problems with their feet
Who ended up as amputees.
This doesn’t happen randomly
In circumstances such as these.
Events like this are typically
Because of what a person eats--
A diet filled with mostly junk,
And heavy on the snacks and sweets.
Along with all of this, just think
Of how your heart would ache and grieve
If you could never bear a child
Because your body can't conceive.
Instead, start eating healthily!
You'll live your life a better way.
Start now! You have the power and tools
To change your life and world TODAY!
